About Dr. Judith Andrews, DAOM, L.Ac.,
Dr. Judith Andrews, DAOM, L.Ac., was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and grew up in a family of physicians. Her father took her along when he treated the underprivileged in the poor areas of Rio. Dr. Andrews went on to study with shamans in the rain forest, crystal healers in sacred mountains, and African herbalists in Bahia, Brazil. She moved to New York City in 1975, then to Connecticut where she fell in love with restoring old houses. Then in North Carolina, she became acquainted with the Cherokee people and their amazing healing knowledge. Dr. Andrews studied acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at Yo San University, in Los Angeles, where she studied with some of the top practitioners and professors in the field of Chinese medicine. Dr. Andrews received her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego. She helped develop the sham needle for a pilot study on Prostate Cancer Radiation patients at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, and has hospital privileges at Rady Children’s Hospital. Dr. Andrews has been a Reiki master for over 20 years and practiced qi gong since year 2000. In China, she had the good fortune to study with acupuncturists and herbalist who were gracious enough to share their knowledge with her. In Thailand she studied under Mantak Chia. Her primary objective is to use this knowledge to help people in their quest for health. As a feng shui consultant, Dr. Andrews believes a harmonious and beautiful environment is indispensable to achieving good health. Dr. Andrews is certified by the California Acupuncture Board, the Florida Board of Acupuncture, and the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
